Dublin Intermediate Watch D.O.G.S. Program

WATCH D.O.G.S. (Dads of Great Students) – Is the father involvement initiative of the National Center for Fathering that organizes fathers and father figures in order to provide positive male role models for the students and to enhance school security. Today, more than 3,156 active programs in 46 states participate in the WATCH D.O.G.S. Program.

Who are Watch D.O.G.S.? Fathers, grandfathers, step-fathers, uncles, and other father figures who volunteer to serve at least one day a year in a variety of school activities as assigned by the school principal or other administratorwatchdog

I personally got to participate in the program on November 5th and it was crazy to see the progression in teaching methods and skills since the days of my schooling.  I feel I might of took more away from the experience than the kids got from me being there.  I learned a new way to work math problems I have never seen before that was demonstrated to me by a 5th grader.  I witnessed innovative teaching methods being used to teach our kids that were not even in existence when I attended school.  I have a much deeper respect and appreciation for the professionals that control the organized chaos and teach our children the skills that they will need to succeed in life.  I encourage anyone that has been thinking about volunteering to do so.  Not only will you be helping the kids, but you just might learn something yourself.

The school is currently looking for more volunteers to help fill the calendar.  If you are interested or want more information about how you can help with this program, check out the following websites.
